Windermere ideally located against a backdrop of National Trust woodlands just 5 minutes’ walk to town and Lake. All our rooms are individual in character, many with antique furniture, including William IV four-posters (c 1825), Louis XV beds and French daybeds. Quality bedding and 9” thick pocket-sprung mattresses in most rooms ensure an excellent and restful night’s sleep!
Blenheim Lodge is located by The Dales Way Footpath, being the first guest house in Bowness en-route for the Walk. There are 3 viewpoints just 10-30 minutes’ walk from our house, and we have outside taps for cleaning muddy boots and a drying room for damp or wet gear! Two FREE Windermere and Ambleside District Association fishing permits are available to guests on a first come first served basis, and we are quite happy for you to gut the fish in our backyard, using the outside tap. Guests may also enjoy FREE membership of a private country club just 5 minutes’ walk from us. We have a private car park.
Within the house, guests have the use of a lovely lounge with beautiful Lake Windermere views. The rooms are all en-suite, except one which has a private bathroom; and all have TVs and tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast, which includes vegetarian choices, is freshly cooked to order, using local handmade produce and dairy products.
Last Word From Guests: ‘Fantastic! Very comfortable! Relaxing with perfect views! Breakfast was delicious, and our welcome without fault. All round excellent service. Warm and friendly. Definitely coming back!’
