Sitting at the foot of Hardknott Pass in beautiful Eskdale, the Woolpack Inn has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, filled with great ales, hearty food, lots of laughter and a few surprises.
There are 7 cosy and comfortable rooms for great value bed and breakfast. The pub offers cosy corners around a wood burning stove, and the mahogany bar beautifully fronts some favourite local real ales from Jennings, Hardknott, Bank Top and Hesket Newmarket and a shiny new beer cellar ensures they are kept at their very best.
The Dining Room at the Woolpack Inn serves meals every Saturday evening and the pub menu is available all week. Both menus use the freshest ingredients, inspired by the fantastic produce available on the doorstep, from Tatie Pot made with local lamb, the Woolpack’s famous fish and chips and local butcher Melville Tyson’s steak and kidney pie.
The Hardknott Bar and Café at the Woolpack serves posh coffees and gorgeous cakes, pastries and scones as well as light bites throughout the day. In the evening, delicious homemade pizzas are made to order in our Italian wood fired oven.
If you’re looking for something a bit different in the evenings, then the Vodka Bar has 52 different flavoured vodkas and a 100 inch HDTV screen for all the major sporting events.
Families are welcome throughout the Woolpack but particularly enjoy the large beer garden and outdoor play area. The Rainy Day Shop sells a selection of toys and games to entertain the family if the weather is less than perfect. Well behaved dogs are always welcome.
The Woolpack also has a wedding licence and a regular events and entertainment calendar.
