Milburn Grange holiday cottages lie directly below the Pennines, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and enjoy views of the Lake District Fells. Our holiday cottages offer a high standard of accommodation and are open all year. Surrounded by gardens and pasture, the cottages are in a relaxing rural setting, and yet are within easy driving distance of the popular tourist centres of the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks, Hadrian's Wall and the Scottish Borders.
Our self catering Lake District cottages are ideal for a relaxing holiday or short break at any time of the year. In addition, for those seeking an activity holiday/break there is ample scope for strenuous walks on the fells or a stroll by the river, many may be taken right from the cottage door. Cyclists may explore the Pennine and Cumbria cycle ways, which pass by our gate. Some of the best game fishing in England is offered on the River Eden and nearby there are fishing lakes. Golfers will enjoy the challenges offered by the local courses (Appleby; Penrith) and those a little farther afield, Keswick and Silloth.

If approaching from the A1, exit at Scotch Corner and take the A66 West to Appleby. Bypass Appleby and travel a couple of miles to Kirkby Thore. Turn right at the Bridge End Inn. The road is signposted Knock, Milburn and Dufton. After approximately 2 miles you will approach a ‘T’ junction. Turn left and almost immediately right into a narrow lane. Continue down the lane to a sharp right-hand then left-hand bend then, after a few yards, across a large field to your left, you will see Milburn Grange Holiday Cottages. The road bends left, down a hill to a junction opposite a bungalow (where the lane bends sharply to the right).
The entrance to Milburn Grange is straight ahead on the left.
