Chapel Cottage | Broughton, Duddon Valley

As its name suggests, this holiday cottage was converted from a former Wesleyan Chapel. It was extensively refurbished in 2007 and has recently come back onto the holiday letting market, providing light and airy accommodation for up to 6 people. Located in the peaceful Duddon Valley, it is surrounded by beautiful mature gardens that back onto established woodland, with superb views of Caw and Stickle fells.

This is a truly lovely area and Chapel Cottage has some of the finest fell walking in the Lake District right at its doorstep. Within a couple of miles are Ulpha’s shop and post office, the 16th century Newfield pub, famed for its steaks, and the bridge over the River Duddon, an ever popular place for swimming and paddling.

The Georgian town of Broughton-in-Furness is just a few miles away, with a butcher, baker, grocer, a few pubs, cafes and an old-fashioned atmosphere. Coniston, with its lake and bustling centre is a fifteen minute drive away. The coastal town of Ulverston is also about twenty minutes away.
